I wouldn't use it at the end of a letter, because it is very informal. I'm having second thoughts about my sig now. Perhaps I ought to change it! _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

Hi Beeesneees,
Just popped in to say that I see no need in you changing your signature text...unless you want to. I believe it sounds friendly and approachable, and there is very little chance that anyone should regard it otherwise. Could you tell me if it is alright to use the phrasal verb ''pop in'' the way I did and if that is very informal ? Many thanks _________________ Just remember... if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off! |

Thank you, Cristina.
Although we don't usually talk about 'popping in' to a forum thread (We usually pop in to a place or a function - party, meeting, etc.) there's nothing wrong with your usage here. It is an informal phrase (but not as informal as 'cheers m' dears'). _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

Hi Bev. I like your signature. You may conduct a poll to find out what learners think about it. However, I think everyone likes it. Besides, You are a helpful language coach and really hardworking so,... no matter What would be perfect as your signature. I appreciate how much time you spent helping learners. _________________ Who dares to teach must never cease to learn. -John Cotton Dana |

It doesn't really matter to me what my sig is, but it isn't a standard expression and I wouldn't want learners to think that it is - that could cause confusion. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

Hi Prashant, You're welcome to this forum. You may use this forum too: Listening, speaking, pronunciation and accent training Write 'I' as a pronoun not 'i' which is a letter and please write 'English' not 'english'. Many thanks. Best of luck. _________________ Who dares to teach must never cease to learn. -John Cotton Dana |
