Topic: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: Students learn better when they are not threatened with possible failure
Being faced with possible failure /CAN/WILL/have positive effect on students. Though some believe that the /urges/DETERMINATION/ to defeat failure is a big pressure and may mislead students study purposes, without such failure, not only would students not know how to improve their knowledge but also studying could turn out to be a dull and monotonous work. Three episodes from my personal view serve as compelling examples to this fact.
Above all, addressing failure is advantagEous for students as they would know what are their knowledge holes as well as weaknesses. Thus, the fear of failure positively motivates students to fill and fix these gaps and interests them in certain fields. For instance, I was always criticized for being toO slow in response to mathematicAL questions. However, I managed to figure out my algebra weaknesses which helped me a lot in calculating and increasing my scores. From then, mathEMATICS WERE is no longer in ON my blacklist (.) NOW THE SUBJECT actually interests me so much WITH its usefulness and reality. Moreover, being exposed to such failure could help students bolster and develop basic skills that may be necessity NECESSARY in their future careers, jobs. It is not surprising to see that how much experience could be brought INto OUR lives by failure. For example, when a student IS NOT faceD with problems and fear all the time, it is likely that he may have no difficulty in dealing with obstacles and hindrances later in his life. FuRthermore, he could unite with his friends to deal with bigger problems(,) and thus improve the understanding between /each other/THEMSELVES.
Last but not least, the urges to defeat any failure in the study progresses are important for students as well as classes. It create competitive and effervescent enviroNments which push students to do their best in learning. My brother’s experience proves true to this fact: in two successive years his class /was/WERE/ always the runnerS-up in the school top ten(,) but this year the fear of losing time /over/AFTER/ time affectED BOTH him and his classmates to push THEMSELVES to the limit to stand in the first place. In short, such outside factors like the fear of failure can /bring/HAVE/ A good effect on students. Although some may think that what IS inside A students mind is the main factor, I believe that such incremental and important steps in THE study progress are FUELLED by the threat of failing. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Good morning TR. An interesting essay. Thank you.
