I was able to attract attention to myself.
"Don't do anything to attract attention to yourself!" his mother warned.
She only dresses like that to attract attention to herself. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

OK thanks . what about " I was able to attract attention to the thief"
would I say ( to him) or to (himself) ? _________________ "There is no compulsion in religion; truly the right way has become clearly distinct from error....."

Also, I called/drew the police's attention to the thief.
The hard and fast rule is You call/attract/draw somebody's attention to something.
It always pays to have a couple of synonyms up your sleeve ;) _________________ If it's not easy, don't do it!

If you wish to refer to someone else (as in your example, the thief) then the usual pronoun rule applies: "The thief tried to make his getaway, but luckily I was able to draw attention to him." _________________ Cheers m' dears! |
