Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Advertising can tell you a lot about a country. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Before people go abroad to visit a new country, normally people collect information about that country by either searching tourism guide or by seen advertisements.
Depending on the advertisement, it would be able to address either a positive image about a country or a negative image, which is not always true about a country.

For example: Advertisements about a country showing women wearing small “bikini”, taking sun bath in a sensual posing view could be able to address a bad message to the viewers.

Some people would relate this kind of publicity to sexual tourism in that country, and it would attract only sexual predator avid for sexual adventure. This kind of “tourism”,
usually occur in poor country which some people take advantage of locals poverty generating a vicious cycle.

Moreover, these kind of tourism are mostly related to drugs, women traffic and also violence. Consequently, it is too bad for a country image and it doesn’t tell what exactly tourism potential that country are able to offer to their visitors.

On the other hand, good advertisements showing a country landscape, beautiful view and their people culture are able to address a good image of a country. Consequently, it would attract “family tourism” which would be able to generate more jobs to locals related to tourism improving locals living conditions.

Besides it, all tourist should be treated as a “guest” when visiting a country. As
we all know, everyone who are well treated would have a good memories of their vacation. Consequently, they would want to return soon bringing more potential visitors with them.

To sum up what I have described above, in my point of view, depending on the advertisement, it could be able to address either a good image or a bad image which is not always true about a country. Therefore, all kind of advertisement should be very careful reviewed before posted to the public.
