Learning vs teaching #16 (permalink) Sun Jul 11, 2004 19:40 pm   Learning vs teaching

Hi Thinker, one of Bruce's strenghts is that he is learning something new every day. We are here to exchange information, knowledge and experiences rather than to teach. Learning is more effective than teaching, wouldn't you agree?

Geography ... learning more #18 (permalink) Sun Jul 11, 2004 20:23 pm   Geography ... learning more

Greetings thinker,

So you think I should learn some more geography?
Tell me first where you get this impression.
This will be interesting.

Best Wishes, Bruce.

I haven?t go time to reply to sniper shots.
A dignified question will receive a dignified answer.

Favourite and hated school subjects #23 (permalink) Mon Jul 12, 2004 2:44 am   Favourite and hated school subjects

Hi Naufragis,

All subjects were interesting. No hates.
My favourites were English, Art, Geography, Sport,
Metalwork, Woodwork and Theatre & Drama.
I was interested in the Sciences and particularly
Mathematics. Such themes as Geometric calculations
were great fun, but the theory slowly became boring
when I began to take interest in the curves and statistics
of the females around me (chuckle).

Bruce.

A purely academic person? #26 (permalink) Mon Jul 12, 2004 21:45 pm   A purely academic person?

thinker

A purely academic person is someone who cannot
transfer knowledge into practice.
Academically clever (book knowledge) but not
have any real experience in a physical or practical
skill. They are good at intellectual karate but not
good at phyical karate for example.
If you play Chess it will help you bring your mental
capabilities into the real world.
Help you move out of your Ivory Tower.
Does that apply to you???

Bruce.

Hi Bruce ! Thank you for explanation. I am sure that every proect must be alive.( without forced injection and without work for show). Sometimes people do many dead proects. It is a waste of time and using brains of others in vain.
