Why are Cross-Cultural Programs important? (5) #1 (permalink) Fri Jul 09, 2004 10:09 am   Why are Cross-Cultural Programs important? (5)

Why is it important to raise social awareness and embrace cultural diversity? Here are some of the reasons:

  • Europe is becoming an economic entity
  • number of international business contacts is increasing
  • number of women in the workplace is increasing
  • number of traditional jobs is decreasing
  • competition in the workplace is increasing
  • international competition between corporation is increasing
  • corporate values are changing
  • communication and language skills are becoming more important
  • willingness and ability to learn are becoming more important
  • team building skills are becoming more important

In addition to these reasons there can be a variety of other factors underlining the significance of cross-cultural training programs.
