Can I say

Make and drill a role play in a more extended conversation.,

if I want my students to write their own role play and talk before me?

That's awkward. I would just say "Let's perform extended conversational role play."

I don't like my first suggestion upon reflection. It doesn't make it clear that you want them to write, and the contraction probably doesn't suit this.

Please write dialogue so that we can perform extended conversational role play.
