"In order for any work of art—whether film, literature, sculpture, or a song—to have merit, it must be understandable to most people."
Art is an expression and creation of human skills and thoughts. Each creation of art gives some messages(,) like social issueS, feeling, fun, ethical and cultural values or it can be anything. A person, who appreciates a beauty, knows the true meaning of art, but if art is not understandable, nobody gets a proper message from that art.
Art can be shown in different manners, in different fields like(,) film, literature, sculpture, song, painting etc. If art is not understandable it affects in many ways. For example (nowadayS) movies are A big entertaining hub for people and many businesses are dependANT on movies. People are crazy about movies(,) but if a movie has no theme or story, poor dialogUE and weak acting, it makes A movie complicated, /not understandable/PUZZLING/ and uninterestING. It affects on THE businesses of THE sponsor, theater and producer. So those people who spend money on film production /get/SUSTAIN A/ loss in their business.
Behind an art there is some message or fruitful information which makes society aware. For example in literature, if AN author writeS a book or article and useS difficult word and argot language, which is not understandable for most people, IT can lose their interest and nobody WILL want to read that book or article. So, the fruitful information and message does not get conveyed to the society, which is really necessary for social and personal development.
(SometimeS) art describeS and showS a true meaning of emotional feeling(,) fun, love, sorrow and so on. If any play or song lacks showing an emotion, people never want to attach with it. If art is difficult to understand, it may be disadvantageous. People can get confused and take IT in another way and it will MAKE A wrong impression in front of society.
So, in short we can say that better representation of art makeS society aware and understandable(,) and can find THE true value of art. To get merit to the FROM art, it must be understandable to most people. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Not bad Rs. You really need to do more reading.

In order for any work of art—for example, a film, a novel, a poem, or a song—to have merit, it must be understandable to most people.
The purpose of arts, in most cases, is to get across a message to the people. Therefore in order for art to be meritorious most people must be able to decipher the message sent across. If the artist fail to do this, then his work is futile. In order for an art work to be worthy it is also needed that the art has a good theme and subject.
As stated art is a medium for the artists to get across their message. With their artistic skills and creativity artists engender various products, which attracts the attention of people to some thing, which could be as simple as the beauty of a place to issues with dire consequences like afforestation and pollution. The artist will receive acclaim for his work only if it is comprehended by many and if the popularity of his work accrues. For this it is also necessary that the artist spread a good message too. If people are not influenced by an understandable work, then the artist would be defamed. Thus artists should strive to make their creations pellucid with virtuous messages.
Movies also become successful when they have a strong story line and good themes and is also perceivable by most of the people. Movies that make it to the grandiloquent Oscar Award nominations are movies that has been watched and accepted by people world wide. Most of these movies are based on a strong subject which inspires the viewers. If the movies are cryptic and not comprehensible by the viewers, then people are deprived of the ability to laud the movie. Another example would be of the photographers who succeeded in bringing the attention of the world to the catastrophic changes brought about by discarded plastic objects in The Pacific Ocean Garbage Patch. The birds there succumb to death consuming the plastic, assuming it to be food. First the photographers collected dead birds and photographed them. They later photographed it again when their entire bodies degraded, which left the plastic food they consumed, in tact. These pictures were successful in portraying the true situation in The Pacific Garbage Patch and incited much action against the use of plastic and other non-degradable materials. Also, consider the example of traditional or tribal art forms in various countries like India and Africa which have become extinct and some which are nearing extinction. The main reason here is that most of these art forms are esoteric and the current generation are not able to enjoy it and therefore eventually do not encourage it. Most of these art forms were developed ages before and hence is very arduous for the young generation to relate to. A similar example would be the petroglyphs done by the Native Americans, which was arcane to the later generation which discovered it and was neglected and destroyed. But today it is gaining much popularity with a few archaeologists and artists trying to interpret the meaning.
In conclusion, if an artist or art work has to be extolled it must be easily comprehensible to the public who would evaluate them. Apart from being perceivable the works must also be worthy of appreciation with good subjects and themes. |
