TOEFL essay about a meaningful transition in a person’s life. #1 (permalink) Sun Jun 13, 2010 3:45 am   TOEFL essay about a meaningful transition in a person’s life.

Topic: write an essay about a meaningful transition in a person’s life.

Transition is the process of human being’s development and change from one state to another. This transition is very meaningful because it aids us into knowing how to behave in a right way in each passage of life. There are much different transition yet it seems to me that a person’s childhood years are the most important because during these years we learn about relationships and begin our formal education.

The early years are the time we learn about relationship. First, we learn about our parents and siblings, then about what is left of the world. We learn how to react to others based upon the treatment we’re given. If we’re loved, we may know how to love others; on the contrary, if we’re ill-treated, we may grow up to treat others in a cruel way. Therefore, childhood is very important because it can lead us to become a good or bad citizen.

These are the years when we begin our basic formal education. We acquire some basic skills such as reading, writing, and working with the numbers that will be used throughout our life. We need to set up a good foundation in these subjects because they may contribute to our future plan which we try to do later; otherwise, our future work will be spoiled by lack of these skills. Our basic education is very necessary on growing up later.

What is more, some people think that adulthood is more meaningful than childhood because it can help people achieve their dreams. However, how can they accomplish those things if they experience bad childhood? Two yeas ago, I used to get acquainted with an orphan girl. After talking with her, I knew that her parents had died when she was born. She didn’t have any relatives. Therefore, she must sell newspaper or lottery ticket to raise herself. She talked with me that she would like to become a teacher in the future but her desire never came true because she did not go to school when she was a child. I really had a lot sympathy for her because her childhood is not good to fulfill her dream.

In short, I believe that learning about relationships and beginning formal education are two things that mark a meaningful transition from childhood to adolescence in a person’s life. It is very necessary for parents to provide a good environment for children and to take care of them carefully because if they have a good foundation, they may continue to follow a right way and become a law-abiding citizen later.

TOEFL essay about a meaningful transition in a person’s life. #3 (permalink) Mon Jun 21, 2010 19:00 pm   TOEFL essay about a meaningful transition in a person’s life.

Our life has many stations, some of them are happy, sad, short, long and meaningful stations that turn our directions or change us ourselves. Every period in our life affects us in a positive or negative way. Every one of us has a personal plan for the life and follows a specific way in the life which contains different events. I personally lived many important events such as success, working, getting married and being a mother. To have a baby is the most meaningful event that has ever happened to me; I can say that it is my turning point and it affects me in different ways for my habits or personalities.
At first, it was the best thing that I have heard that I will be a mother and I will never forget this moment that made me the happiest woman on the earth. Then, I have started to prepare myself for receiving a new person to my family. I had to stop some bad habits that may affect my baby badly, I have stopped smoking and saying up late to do not harm the baby; also I have paid more attention to my health and my nutrients that I have never cared about it before to keep the baby healthy.
After laying my first child, I felt myself have become more responsible than before. Bringing up a child has a lot of difficulties such as teaching the ethics and what is bad and good. I should be an effective guide especially for the first period of the child's life to help him/her to be a good person.
In conclusion, having a baby is one of the most important events in the person's life because it is merit to make a change in the personality by helping to stop the bad habits for your child's sake and also can make us more responsible as we become responsible for one more person.
