Hello Columbus, like you I'm here to improve my English skills both in comprehension and writing. I have been attending English lessons once per week since September 2009, and believe me it helped me a lot. Nevertheless, you must enforce studying at home too: you need to get a good grammar book, rules are very important. You can also search on the Internet where you will find a lot of information. At the same time, write as much as possible. Learning a language, as English for example, requires a strong commitment and lot of patience. Like a sport, you need to practice every day until you will be confident in yourself. In Italy we use to say: "Who doesn't do, doesn't make any error" = "Chi non fa, non sbaglia". It means, to learn you need to practice, and you'll be obviously wrong but you'll learn from your errors. |

You know how much time you can dedicate to learning English, but a short time each day will produce better, longer-term results than a full day on the weekend and then nothing for two weeks. Joining a short intensive course could produce better results than joining a course that takes place once a week for six months. Here are some goals you could set yourself:
• Join an English course (and attend regularly). • Do your homework. • Read a book a month. • Learn a new word every day. • Visit an English speaking forum every day. • Read a news article on the net every day. • Do 10 minutes listening practice every day?
