Stray in the dark #2 (permalink) Sat Dec 17, 2005 18:41 pm   Stray in the dark

Hello Peanut,

The verb "stray" means not to follow the proper course. It implies a state of danger or being lost.
If you stray it means that you are not going the right direction and you may be lost.
In this example "to stray in the dark" means "to lose the way in the dark, to take the wrong direction because it's dark".

The verb "stagger" means to move unsteadily. For example, a drunk person cannot walk properly, he/she usually staggers.

Hope this helps!
Success!
Daniela
