Cubicle! what's wrong with cabin?

maybe I should not have use the word big differences, just differences... if Ralf doesn't mind... I copied part of his message here - he wrote down some of them...

In Britain and Ireland, people have already started using words such as 'awesome', 'bathroom', 'dude' and sometimes even 'sidewalk' when referring to 'incredible', 'toilette', 'mate' or 'pavement'. School kids are in doubt of whether to use an 's' or a 'z' in verbs like 'organise', and they spell colour without the 'u'
Now back to me:
I noticed the order of words in sentences in some cases is also different. S and Z in verbs is one of the most common differences, also -ly or - lly. But mostly it is about what words would both BE and AE use in the same sentence... like the CABIN and DRESSING ROOM example.
It doesn't bother me, I like the BE, I am just worried how much of AE will tolerated to me when taking the CPE test .

Hi Gabriela,

Don't worry too much about these differences or variations in the various Englishes that you'll find in what you read and hear. That's the beauty of English - it is versatile. You obviously enjoy writing and using English, which is the main thing. Keep reading and writing and keep using the forums to express yourself and you'll gain in confidence. I used to be an examiner for CPE many years ago and I can assure you that the belief of the examiners continues to be that candidates who display clarity should be rewarded.
