Right grammar except for the lowercase pronoun 'I'.
As I said elsewhere - shame about the sentiment.

All are correct:
"If I chose a friend, I would choose you."
"If I chose a friend, I wouldn't choose you."
"If I chose a cake, it would be the fruit sponge."
"If I chose a cake, it wouldn't be the fruit sponge."
