The depth of knowledge to be gained from books is much richer and broader than what can be learned from direct experience."

Knowledge is a broad term, it can be restricted to a particular subject or can be any general subject.
There are various ways to accuire knowledge. It can be through books, media or by the direct experience.
Each way is effective and plays different roles in accuiring the knowledge.Ways can't be restricted
for a particular domain.Books are important but it can't substitute direct experience in some cases.
Books develops a thinking process. But without direct experience one can't comprehend and utilize it.

Books plays foremost important role in begning to conceive an idea and give description. For example
for a child a 'Apple' is red and round shaped fruite which he/she can eat. This description is good
and give a imaginary view for the child but without direct experience he/she will feel unsatisfied.
In other hand for the children who can't find 'Apple' in there country, this description given by the book
generate basic understanding. But in some cases direct experience is not possible for example in mathematics
most of the concepts are abstract. Not only in mathematics but science contain many concepts which are
abstract and can't be perceived and in this case books provide description. Books are limited in some
senses but generate basic understanding. So one can't reject there importance. It's importance can be viewed
when people have limited resources such as schools and faculty.A good book substitute
other resources.

On contrary direct experience is essential for some areas such as in medical profession.
In medical profession a doctor can't relied only on bookish knowledge.Because of complex
human body every thing can't be understood with the help of book diagrams. One needs the practical
experience in this case. For this purpose dissection practicals are usually conducted.
Also before the actual practice, juniors get direct experience by asisstting there senior and
more experienced doctors. In the same way perceivable things can be understood in better way if
experienced directly rather than with the help of books.

In general term one can say that books are the unlimited source of knowledge but instead of there
vast contents they can't be substituted for direct experience in some cases. For the profound knowledge one
has to get direct experience of that particular subject.Direct experience is restricted due to many
factors one is the availabity of resource. Also direct experience varies randomly because of enviornmental factors
as well as the personal ability. For complete direct experience one requires detailed background knowledge of
the topic which can be obtained with the help of books. So in one and other way both ways substitute each other.

Best approach, To get profound knowledge is gathering information from various methods such as reading various books
,using other media (internet) and making discussions etc., After which having direct experience by which the all aspects
can be fully discovered and comprehended fully.Advent of new media also generated many options for the young generation
which overcomed the book's limitation now internet is the proficient medium to gather knowledge by reducing search time
of required information.

Thanks,
nisha
