Dance is an important art through which a man expresses his views. A dancer represents his culture though his attire, makeup and dance movements. Dance is an integral part of any culture. By seeing dance anybody can tell about his culture. It is a way of education ,entertainment and performing religious and social obligations.

To start with, Dance is the way to educate people about their history. It is the medium through which people get to know about the glory of their culture. A dance has a story. Sometimes it depicts the era or sometimes it tells the action of a famous person. For example Indian bharatnatayam is a dance which depicts the story of King Ashoka.

In addition to educate people, dance is a great source of entertainment. From thousands of years, people like to see dance. Its music, dance movements, attire and makeup of artists make dance very popular among people. All kings had his own dancers in their court. Classic Ballet, disco and salsa are very popular dances which are very old but still liked by people of all eras.

Along with educate people and a great source of entertainment, a dance plays very important role in religious and social world. In ancient time, people danced in temples to make happy to God. It was the way to express their gratitude in front of God. Not only in temple, we dance in all social events like marriage and birth. Rain dance is the example to clarify this point.

To conclude, dance plays very important role in our culture. It gives us a sense of pride through educate us with our history. It amuses us by difficult body movements. It is a way to express our feelings in religious and social events.
