Topic. Some people believe that advertising on television is beneficial to viewers. Others take the position that television advertising has primarily negative effects. Which position do you agree with?

It is not surprising that we can encounter advertising everywhere, even at home. Every a couple of minutes on television, advertisements intervene to introduce new products such as fashion, food, medicine and toys to the viewers. For commercial reasons, we have to acknowledge advertising’s existence but we should be aware of the fact that its effects are not good at all. It ignites viewers’ desires to unimportant things and leads many into fraud.

As far as I know, advertising causes viewers to spend money and time on unimportant things. Through showy and attractive advertisements for latest products, sellers provoke viewers’ desires to own one of those items, cause them to pump their money. Many viewers are lax, and buy things just because they are the latest and newest. However, while they are hanging out and shopping for a myriad of luxurious things, many people around the world are very poor, in need of food, clothes and such simple things. In my opinion, those amounts of money had better be spent on promoting society.

Moreover, if advertising is not ruled strictly, sellers can abuse it to commit fraud. They fabricate products’ use and make viewers believe these things are useful. In most cases, customers only lose a large amount of money uselessly, but in some cases, those fabricated products can cause harm to the user. This is true in my country where medicines are advertised widely on television; many of them are fruitless, unable to treat diseases. Using those medicines only wastes time, and makes illness become worse.

Moreover, I am convinced that advertising is having formed customers’ doubtful attitude toward sellers in general. Although, only a particular amount of sellers are having abused advertising for earning money, many viewers become more and more dubious about every thing advertised on television, consider all sellers and companies to be bad. It is obvious people should not have such the attitude toward each other.

In short, it is obvious that advertising has primarily negative effects. It causes viewers as well as customers to be distracted from important things such as promoting society by igniting their desires to shop, and pump money, and it also contributes to establishing bad attitude from customers toward sellers.

As far as I know, advertising causes viewers to spend money and time on unimportant things. Through showy and attractive advertisements for THE latest products, sellers provoke viewers’ desires to own one of those items, cause them to SQUANDER their money. Many viewers are lax, and buy things just because they are the latest and newest. However, while they are hanging out and shopping for a myriad of luxurious things, many people around the world are very poor, in need of food, clothes and such simple things. Moreover, I am convinced that advertising HAS formed customers’ doubtful attitude toward sellers in general. Although, only a particular amount of sellers are having abusING advertising TO earn money, many viewers HAVE becAme more and more dubious about everything advertised on television AND TODAY consider all sellers and companies to be bad. It is obvious people should not have such the attitude toward each other.

In short, it is obvious that advertising has primarily negative effects. It causes viewers(,) as well as customers(,) to be distracted from important things(,) such as promoting society by igniting their desires to shop, and WASTE money, and it also contributes to establishing bad attitudeS from customers toward sellers.
