Hello, mr. Kitos. I'm quite tired after my university exam, but I have to continue to work on my essays because toefl is very soon. I hope these two essays are not too poor, and I am really sorry if they are...
Which style of reading (fiction, or non-fiction) DO you prefer?
There is a huge amount of different styles of reading now, which makes it possible to choose what to read. Some people prefer to spend their time on reading only those books which talk about real things, others find it interesting to read something fictional. I would personally prefer to read a beautiful novel, even if it is not true, because it would make me forget about daily problems and improve my imagination. First of all, fictional literature is usually written in less formal language. During my studies I have to read a lot of manuals and history books, which I find boring. The main idea of non-fictional books is usually to convey certain information. For example, we read technical manuals to understand how different things work. I find non-fictional writing style more interesting because THE one essential quality of novels is attracting the reader instead of providing facts.
Moreover, I love to read novels because it makes me forget daily problems. If I have a quarrel in family or just feel tired, I take a book, written by onE of my favorite authors, such as Hemmingway or Remark, and do not thinK nervousLY about other things any more. I live in the unreal world with unreal people during such a reading. On the other hand, reading a history book is associated with the routine of my studies and usually makes my mood even worse.
Finally, I like to imagine situations, described in books. For example, when I was reading "Lord of the rings" by Tolkien, it was very interesting to create this fantastic world with elfs, hobbits and magic creatures in my mind. I strongly believe that we have to dream more because sometimes each day of the real life looks like the previous one. Topics of non-fictional books, on the contrary, are often very realistic in describing the facts.
In conclusion, I do not usually have time to read novels because I have to concentrate mostly on educational manuals, but I love novels much more because I enjoy their beautiful language, feel relaxed and can dream during the reading. I wish I had more time to read my favorite books.seni.

| Thank you, Kitos. I thought that my brains were completely destroyed during exams and I begun to forget even the Russian language...but they are still working...all in all, "Keep it simple" is the best advice, indeed=) |
