Hiii dear members :) Would you please review my essay? All comments are welcome. My exam is ToMoRrOw!! Pray for me!! Thanks in advance.
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn. Give specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
Being a teacher myself for more than four years, I consider myself in a place that enables me to discuss the issue of "Teachers' Wages". Some people argue that teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn. In my opinion, teachers should earn the amount of money that reflects their efforts rather than the amount of taught materials.
It stands to a reason that teachers are the mainstay in the education system, and this necessitateS that the government should SHOW GREATER concern about THE OPINIONS OF THEIR TEACHERS in order to ensure the continuity of the quality of the educational process. Thus, the first reason why teachers should be paid in accordance with their effort is that teacherS(,) in any society(,) WORK diligently to ensure that students are assimilating the taught material in the best way. Nowadays, teachers are utilizing all available materials; whether it is audio, video or experimental materials to guarantee that the taught subjects are entirely absorbed by the students. However, they may encounter some students who are significantly weak in specific courses in spite of the great WORK done by the teachers. Even in this case, it would be unfair if the teachers' wages were dependent on the amount of material perceived by students. For example, two years ago, I was teaching a science course for a certain class in a private school. Although I used all the available materials at the time to make the course easier for the students, I found some students who were in particular unable to show progress in my class. The principal of the school; however, was supportive and didn't cut my payment as she witnessed how diligent I was in teaching the students the assigned course.
The second reason why teachers should be paid according to their effortS(,) not the amount of knowledge perceived by students(,) is that if teachers were to feel that their mission is underestimated, they might leave this career and consequently jeopardize the educational process(,) as the number of teachers will significantly DIMINISH. As a matter of fact, teachers as other working individuals in society have financial commitments that should be satisfied; they have to pay bills and BE ABLE TO SATISFY their basic needs. If they felt that their work is not BEING appreciated and their rights are not BEING fulfilled, they might leave their jobs and consider changing their careers. This will surely harm the educational system. I remember an incident in my country, six years ago, when the government decided to apply a new policy which declared that teachers will be paid according to the achievements in teaching(,) and according to the results of students in some given exams. At that point, teachers felt they were underVALUED and they started demonstrations and strikes against the new policy. Even more, many of them left their jobs iAS a response to the enacted rule. Of course, as a result, many schools, especially in the remote areas in the country, were affected by the teachers' reaction and the educational process as a whole was severely affected by this incident. In the end, the government had to /eliminate/CANCEL/REVISE/ that policy in favoUr of the ORIGINAL educational process.
To sum up, teachers are the backbone of the educational system; so, they should be revered and appreciated for their role in the society(,) since they are spending great efforts towards the students. Moreover, underestimating the value of teachers may cause them to leave their jobs(,) and this will consequently damage the educational system. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Looks like a sound argument to me. Good luck.
