Hi Alan ,
I've been on this site for I think 2 years , if not even more , and any meeting with your texts and implicitly with yourself and the excerpts from the English grammar are delightful. You know what to emphasize and how to do it , you come up with very provocative texts , appropriate topics and a tinge of humour. All in all you're a witty!
Many thanks.

Hi,
They don't waste their money in the slightest means 'they don't waste their money in any way at all'.

I hear the mp3 you have downloaded it contain the word care, and the word ( care ) can join more other words construction , for example like : take care of , carelessness, careless, carefree and so on , thank you for the message, but the message which reachs my email talks about concern and worry , and I will say the first word ( concern ) has more meaning which the second hasn't the same. _________________ MMA |

Hi Alan,
Thank you for your great job!
I have a little question. You may think it as off-top... Excuse me anyway. There were 2 sentences in English essay 58: ...he takes great care (noun) in his appearance. (there is no article used with "care" in the sentence) and ...he doesn't have a care (noun) in the world. (there is "a" article used with "care" in the sentence). What is the difference between these two "care"s?
Thank you in advance!!!

Hi Olga,
'In the expression 'take great care' there is no article as 'care' is used here as an abstract noun. It's like 'pay attention' - 'give consideration to' 'give help to' and so on. In the second example 'not a care in the world' is a countable noun and would be the same as 'not a problem'.
