Are the following sentences correct?

- The child was happiest when he was with his grandparents.
- Parents are proudest of their children when they accomplish something very important in life.
- I'm proudest of my latest book.
- The only one I'm proudest of in my life is my son, who is a doctor.

I was the one who visited my mother the most when she was in hospital (in the sense of: 'Unlike my brothers and sisters, I was the one who visited my mother every day when she was in hospital.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks! What do you think of my other topic? I would be very grateful if you took a look at it and gave me your opinion.

Hello Alexandro,

I'm comfortable with your first three sentences, but I think the addition of 'only' is rather odd/unusual in the fourth sentence. I'd omit it.

How about just:

The proudest in my life is my son, who is a doctor.

I agree with Amy (Esl Expert) that 'only' sounds odd, but I would also substitute 'person' for 'one'

The person I'm proudest of in my life is my son, who is a doctor.

That has a different meaning, Haihao. It seems to mean that of all the people the speaker knows, his son has the most pride in himself.

Ah, yes, Amy. "Of" couldn't be omitted.
