Thanks for your help. I agree it is clumsily worded in terms of too many "ups" Maybe this version will make the grade for you?
You don't have the follow-through to bring whatever project you take up to completion.

It's better. It's okay. It's a bit 'wordy' for my liking. It's the sort of sentence you may have to read through several times before understanding the meaning.
You don't have the follow-through to complete any project you take up. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

'Follow through' is a bit mechanical. How about 'perseverance'? Now, that's a good word.
