Hello,

Is the following usage of "to hustle/hurry it up" natural from a native speaker's viewpoint?

Now all we have to do is wait for them to find us. I hope they hurry/hustle it up because my brain is getting soggy (he's using his antlers to plug up the holes in the bottom of the boat)

Thanks in advance!

I answered this earlier - i can't have clicked on 'send'!

I hope they hurry because... is fine.
I hope they hustle because ... is fine.
I hope they hurry up because... is fine.

I hope they hurry it up because... is acceptable.

I would never use 'I hope they hustle it up'

My term of the moment to describe that situation is 'I hope they get a wiggle on because...'
I can't remember where I picked it up but my young pupils love it!

Thanks a bunch!
And I think I'll commit that expression of yours to memory too, I have a liking for all manner of slang.
