meaning of 'hassle' in this context? #1 (permalink) Thu Jul 15, 2010 14:52 pm   meaning of 'hassle' in this context?

I've come across the word 'hassle' in the following extract of the audio script:
'It's something that everyone seems to be talking about nowadays - every time I turn on the television or open a paper there it is! We have to use less enegy, recycle more, protect tigers - I can't be bothered with it really. It's such a hassle!
I looked up at the dictionary but found just 'prolonged argument; wrangle; a great deal of trouble; difficulty; nuisance'. Maybe the word 'hassle' has one more meaning?
Thanks in advance!

a great deal of trouble; difficulty; nuisance

That is the definition of "hassle" that sentence uses. I would say that is more prevalent than the quarrel use unless hassle is used as a verb.

In other words, recycling is too burdensome.
