Please correct the mistakes in the following paragraph:

What I would call him he was a hero made by the perfect combination of the circumstances. He was backed by the army and many external powerful agencies. That's why he was able to do too much in those areas where many had feared even to step in. If he had been a directly democratically elected official, then his hands would have been tied by several complexities of the constitution, social attitudes, and in particular by political future of his own, associates and his party.

What would I call him? He was a hero made by a perfect combination of the circumstances. He was backed by the army and many external powerful agencies. That's why he was able to do so much in those areas where many had feared even to step in. If he had been a democratically elected official, then his hands would have been tied by several complexities of the constitution, social attitudes, and, in particular, by the political future of his own associates and his party.
