1. Her friend’s messages of sympathy helped her during her illness. (comfort).
Her friend’s messages of sympathy were comfort to her during her illness.
2. Please behave in my house as you would in your own house. (make).
Please make your self in my house as at your own house.
3. He deals calmly with everything. (stride). He takes everything with his stride.
4. Why don’t you relax for a few days and let me look after the shop? (easy).
Why don’t you take it easy for a few days and let me look after the shop?
5. She was very relieved when she realized that her bag hadn’t been stolen. (breathed).
She breathed a sign of relief when she realized that her bag hadn’t been stolen.
6. She likes children. (fond).
She is fond of children.
7. I didn’t want a serious conversation. (mood).
I wasn’t in a mood for a conversation.
8. They buy nice furniture. (taste).
They’ve got a good taste in furniture.
9. I don’t really like this kind of music. (keen).
I am not really keen of this kind of music.
10. They said they thought your cooking was wonderful. (praise). '
They were full of praise for your cooking.

1. ...were a comfort to her...
2. Please make yourself at home in my house. (Though I would argue that the meanings aren't identical, it's the closest I can get using 'make')
3. ... everything in his stride.
7. I wasn't in the mood for serious conversation.
8. They've got/they have good taste in furniture. (Again, I would disagree that this is the same.)
9. ... on this kind of music.

You got the others.
