1. Two pens are same length.
2. Two pens are of same length.
I am sure that 2nd sentence is correct.
But, dubious about the second.
Please answer and explain.

Both are incorrect.

Two pens are of the same length.
Two pens are the same length.

These are correct and mean the same thing.

- XXX and YYY are of the same length.
- XXX and YYY have the same length.

What do you think of saying XXX and YYY are the same in length instead?
