Many people have learned a foreign language in their own country, others have learned a foreign language in the country which it is spoken. Which is better?
Learning, a foreign language is a good accomplishment. Language is the only way by which a man can communicate with ANother man. During civilization, man has developed many languages. Knowing a foreign language would be an exciting and learning phenomenon. Personally, I prefer to learn a foreign language and the place of learning is a trivial aspect for me. However, I would like to learn the foreign language in my home country rather than in country, where it is spoken. I would further my discussion by mentioning some of the few reasons.
First of all, learning a foreign language in your home country would be ‘fun and AN adventure’. Where all people speak native language, and you can speak a foreign language, it would help you make lighter moments in day to day life. You can PLAY a prank ON your friend or sibling in THE foreign language. They would enquire OF you what you HAD said and what it meant. While, you can simply smile a naughty smile. Your friends can learn that language from you, and and some friends can form a group of the foreign language speakers. Such a group of friends would become famous in school or IN THE workplace. Other native people, would be impressed by such a group and they can BE fooled, as if you were foreigners. Whereas, on the other hand, a foreign country where you are speaking its native language is a means of ‘survival’ for you. It is an obligation to learn the mother language of the foreign country in which you are inhabiting. You cannot express yourself in your mother tongue in a foreign country. You would be 'alienated' if you don not learn THE language of the country IN WHICH you are living in.
Secondly, Learning a foreign language in your own country could be a ‘professional edge’. There are various outsourcing companies, which deal with technical problems overseAs. Such a company may hire you on your ability to communicate in foreign language. Moreover, you can sell your knowledge. You can open an institute where you could teach a foreign language. This would be an ‘economic boon’ to you. Such a trend is quite common in Asian countries like India. There are various foreign languages that are taught in specialized schools for professional and hobby purpose. A fluent English or French could increase your chances of getting jobs in call centers in India. On the other hand, learning a foreign language in its native nation might not fetch you such benefits. There, you are like all other people and have no privilege of your multilingual trait.
Thirdly, you could know ‘foreign cultures’ just by sitting at your home, and learning their language. After you have learnt any foreign language, like say French, you could start reading French books. You would come across diverse facts from books about French people and France itself. French movies, would be accessible to you. You could know about their famous actors and their works. Things like, French food and clothes would also mean something to you, as you have learnt the language itself. So it would be quite ‘educating phenomenon’ in your native country itself. Eventually you may not be able to visit France, but could still live like a Frenchman. Such a bizarre endeavoUr would not be fulfilled by living in France and speaking French there.
So,I quote learning a foreign language in your native country would be a fun. Moreover, it would embellish your professional value and would be an educating experience. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Your essay seemed to be written by two different people. The first half was childish, and the second half was really much better. Stick to formal writing. The style suits you better.
