Hello Alan, Mister Micawber, Beeesneees, Mordant, Esl_Expert and other native English speakers,

----------------------------------
http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/local/7606090/a-year-on-but-how-much-closer/
A year on from one of most horrific murders in New South Wales and there does not appear to be a firm suspect.
----------------------------------

Isn't one of the most horrific murders correct?

On the other hand (in view of the 'try to' song and a dance I should know better than to say this) it could be an example of the fashion to omit articles?

I still haven't come across an example of that... unless this is one, of course :S
It makes more sense to me to read it as a typo, than as a language trend. (It is apparent that even the best of us make typos!)

Thank you, Alan and B.

I think that's just a typo. "The" can be left out in a title, though.
