To pull your socks up means to try to improve your performance, work, behaviour, etc.
Is that all you've done? You're going to have to pull your socks up if you want to finish that today!
He's going to have to pull his socks up if he wants to remain employed by this company.
Aren't you ready yet? You'd better pull your socks up. We don't want to be late!
