Hi Bay,
You can use the simple present in various contexts. Just read a lot and analyze the tenses you come across. For example, you will find a lot of expressions in the present simple in this story by Alan Townend: How to use the Simple Present Tense.

My name's Khelaf and my country's name is Algeria . Many thanks for the great lessons you send me ,you are so generous with these relevant advices and tips on English Learning.
The blue "'s" is the contraction of "is" . The red one is the possessive , which replace the current form : - The name off her husbund is .... - Her husband's name is ...
Best regards ,
The more you correct my mistakes the more I will have the chance to learn . Learning English is difficult but not impossible . Before a child walked on his legs , he felt many times and tried again and again to stand up . He never gave up until .... |

it's very difficult to understand sometime and as always very difficult to make someone understand. but every body try best. how much i undersand that is when possessive or apostrophe 's followed by pronoun it's like contraction or abbreviate it is = it's. when 's followed by Noun it indicates the object is belong to him. |

Hi, My short text: Jim's got a girl-friend. Her dream's to become a pilot. But his girl-friend's teacher said it's nonsense.
The answer on your question is in 'blue' is verb BE and in 'red' is Possessive Case. |

This my ever first entry. Asexplianed others I also under stand that Red "s" explain the belonging and Blue "s" is abreviation of is like,
This is maike's car, he's driving it.
This is hamid's house, he's opening it's lock. |

Hi Mr.Torsten!!
Thank you for new lesson.
Red ones are possessives.Blue ones are abbrevations of 'is'.
What about plurals. As I know there should be difference in putting apostrophe in this case. for example {my sister's books } and {my sisters' books}. In first case I'm takling about books of one of my sisters, and in second case I'm talking about books of all of my sisters. Aren't I?
Thanks
