It's because one s indicates someone's possession and another one indicates current occupation of someone. Please iam not so familiar with possessive nouns. Thank you. |

Hi Torsten,
First at all thank you for the sixth lesson that I've found very useful-
The blue ('s) are abbreviation of verb "to be" while the red ones are genitive form (possessive) |

Dear Torsten,
The blue "s" is the abbreviated form of the "to be" verb in singular 3.person
For exp: 1.He's very handsome. She's very beautiful. It's raining.
The red "s" is possessive "s":
For.exp: My daughter's children are very clever. Hungary's capital is Budapest.
