Hi Natalika,
This means that you leave someone without telling them you are going to do that. 'He walked out on his wife' suggests that he simply leaves her without telling her that he is leaving her.

Dear Alan, explain to me, please, if he/she leaves NOT without telling(I mean, if he/she tells in advance that he/she is going to leave somebody), the preposition 'walk out ON' will be different? |

You must've meant "elucidated". Anyway, here's another explanation. _________________ If it's not easy, don't do it!

Hi,
The expression is 'Why the hell ...' This suggests that you simply have no idea at all why he did that.

| Would it be ok if I say " I walked out on my boss because he was jerk" ? Or that "to walk out on somebody" is working only for the love thing? |

You could say that - but perhaps you should make sure your boss can't overhear you! ;) _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

One way to understand the phrase "walked out on me" is to think of it as a complaint. It is most commonly used as a negative statement, it means disappointment that someone else left. A person is not happy when someone else "walks out on them" when they were expected to stay. It would usually be used in personal relationships, but with a slight change in words it might be used in other settings as well.
Here are some examples:
- I was right in the middle of making the presentation, but the guy just got up and walked right out on me. - We were getting along pretty good, but one day I got home and found out she had walked out on me. - If you miss this opportunity, if you walk out on me there will be no coming back later! _________________ Joel Milne,
