2, 3, 4. The person wasn't terminated, that would be murder! The employment was terminated.

Hello B,

Is it wrong to say "to terminate somebody" to mean "to fire somebody"?

An Annex Security Operations employee responsible for the safety of students has been terminated from his job with Huntsville City Schools.

Desmond Ford, veteran Bible teacher at Avondale College and Pacific Union College, was terminated from denominational employment in 1980 because he stated his belief that Christ had entered the Most Holy Place at His ascension rather than 1844.

Next, the mother claimed the trial court erred by failing to impute income to the father when he was terminated from his employment due to misconduct.

All terminated, terminated and terminated mean "fired," don't they?

The original question asked for preference, not for which ones were grammatically accepted. I stated my preference leaving out the phrases I would avoid.
Also note that in all your examples the people were terminated from employment, not just terminated.

Hi B,

Do you think that I must've misunderstood something?

By the way, it's possible to say "to terminate somebody" to mean "to fire somebody," isn't it?

Hi Tofu,

No, that would be very strange.

It is possible, but it always means to terminate from employment. Personally I would never say that someone has been terminated.

Tort,

Yes, she did. Shouldn't I have asked her if "to terminate somebody" can also mean "to fire somebody"? I see no problem, but what about you?

B and Alan,

Thank you for the responses. Have I done anything wrong?

If you terminate somebody's employment, you fire them from the job.
If you terminate somebody, you end their life.
