The fight was among Mark, Dave and Joe. Is this grammatically incorrect?
------------------------------- http://tinyurl.com/2dcctdy But contrary to the eyewitness account, a Buddhist Monk from monastery, located near the University Campus where the fight had allegedly taken place told Mizzima that the fight was among rival students. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- http://tinyurl.com/2beookj The fight was among about a dozen revelers at the apartment and a group of about six people who showed up later in the evening. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- http://tinyurl.com/2eze2xw Police, witnesses and one of the injured teens said lots of kids fought. School officials believe the fight was among just four young men. -------------------------------

Can we say:
The fight was between Mark, Dave and Joe? Yes or No?
"The fight was 'among' Mark, Dave and Joe" sounds weird in this context.
Thanks. |
Hi,
I would say "the fight was between Mark, Dave and Joe" if there were two sides in the fight (Mark and Dave fought together) I would say "the fight was among Mark, Dave and Joe" if they were fighting one another. _________________ If it's not easy, don't do it!
