Hi,
this phrase comes from company instructions. Can anyone tell me what "top of standard day rates" means here?
"When calculating the total value of the request, consideration must be given to the likely final cost of the engagement including any disbursements or expenses, which may have to be paid on top of standard day rates etc."

Thanks in advance!
Raf

which may have to be paid / on top of / standard day rates.

So there might be extra expenses which will have to be paid in addition to the standard rates.

(on top of = in addition to)
