TOPIC: ISSUE137 - "What we call progress is a matter of exchanging one problem for another." WORDS: 588 TIME: 00:49:03 DATE: 8/3/2010 5:42:19 PM
The contention presented above is heartfeltly agreed with my belief MEETS WITH MY TOTAL AGREEMENT because I ever ALWAYS think that the development of any realm of our society and individuals themselves will never encounter an end unless the universe destroyS itself someday. The moment you are delighted WITH the finished task or solved problems you are closer to the next ones.
First I want to point out the fact that we human beings are not gods who can solve everything effortlessLY. Intelligent as we may be on the earth, we are tiny in terms of the grandeur and magnificence of the whole universe. We are limited in our perception, interpretation, and reasoning, which make it inevitable that we are too weak to solve the problems presented by the world. As a matter of fact, innumerable amounts of fresh knowledge and problems are waiting there for us, and there's actually no end to the problems we will meet in our short course of life.
In the realm of science, as we celebrate the breakthroughs carried out by some hard working scientists, another problem follows. Thomas Newcomen, widely regarded as the forefather of steam engine, bring us the power and convenience of industrialized society. However, as people are surprised by the marvelous invention and its forceful power, severe problemS are encountered that duE to the inherent deficiency of the mechanics within the engine, the efficiency of it IS too low to provide satisfactory and cost-efficient facility. This problem lingered around the scientists and inventors for about 60 years, and WERE finally overcome by THE world famous James Watt. Still, we should not feel happy so QUICKLY, because the approaching problems never halt themselves. As the industrialization get prevailing BECOMES MORE PREVELANT around the world, ANOTHER energy crisis has been brought at the center of biggest concerns. As for this problem, scientists have to come up with novel and fresh ideas to cope with it. Alternative energIES are given the most trust in solving the urgent crisis. However, we can easily predict that even if the energy crisis is solved by alternatives, another relevant problem will soon emerge.
Likewise, the continuous problems never show any mercy on human beings in the world of humanity. As learnt from the history class, human society evolved from the primitive formS, through feudal formS, to the capitalized and socialized form. When people were set free from the threat of being eaten by furious beasts, they had to suffer the oppression and exploitATION of the feudal emperor. Later, when they advanced to the society of peace and prosperity, environmental problems set in. As we can see, human beings never stop conquering one problem after another.
Even when it comes to the progress of A single individual, problems are also abundant throughout OUR whole life. When you grow from a toddler to a boy suitable for school, you are met with a load of school works such as homeworks, tests, and competition. As you cheerfully receive the diploma, the stress and pressure to find a lucrative job make you restless. If we have access to the autobiography of someone, we can see the process of continually exchanging one problem for another. That's why there is a widely recognized saying " Life is restless".
We live in a eternal and dynamic universe, full of challenges and problems waiting for us to face. Life is the process in which nothing stayS static and we should acknowledge it. So, what we should never expect to see the end of the problems in the future, because once we see it, we die. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I too had difficulty in following your thoughts. However, you are obviously capable of learning better ways of expressing yourself. I hope that you find a topic better suited to your capabilities for your next submission.
