Teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn. #1 (permalink) Tue Aug 03, 2010 19:14 pm   Teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn.

Hi Kitos, Good night. Would you please check my new essay. Many thanks indeed.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn. Give specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
There is no doubt that teachers have a great influence on our communities because today education is compulsory for all students. Students observe their teachers’ behavior and listen to them carefully and usually absorb whatever they say. Hence, I don’t agree that teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn. Likewise, they are to be respected and esteemed seemly.
The first and foremost reason lies in the fact that students are different intellectually and mentally. Some are very intelligent while others unintelligent, so that clever students might acquire knowledge very soon while others need more time to memorize their lessons. Suppose in a circumstance in which most of students of a class have low ability to memorize. So, what will be happen for their teachers? To my mind, it is unfair because such students are not able to learn their lessons quickly, as a result their teachers will be paid a little money.
Second reason for my propensity is that students are supposed to study by themselves after finishing classes. Although some students learn whatever their teachers say in the class in short time, others need more to study at home. From my point of view, since student spend most of their time at home, students’ parents are responsible to encourage them to study.
Last but not least, if governments decide to execute such a plan for teachers’ income, what will be happen in the education system? Teachers definitely change their usual teaching method. To earn more income, they may concentrate on those subjects that students probably will be asked frequently. Then, students could get a high score. Consequently, teachers receive more money. Of course this style of teaching will affect badly on all aspects of our life. Students with low knowledge graduated from high schools and universities and want to be employed in companies.
In conclusion, I definitely disagree with the statement because poor results will be obtained. Learning of students depends on their characteristics which are usually passed from their parents. Additionally, because teachers are not only one source of information, students themselves are responsible for heighten their knowledge.
