Being creative is more important in finding the best solution to a problem than planning carefully.

Creativity, which is a desirable approach to solving problems, is highly advocated in numerous educational institutions and commercial organizations. But in fact, being careful is supposed to deserve higher priority than it, because it is fundamental for every feasible solution. Besides, it is more economical and safe.

The principal factor is that the sophisticated plan is the cornerstone of all the various solutions, including those creative ones. The careful plan means well-rounded understanding, rigorous analysis and exact program. And being creative encourages people put forward and adopt a completely fresh avenue towards complicated/intricate problem. The interrelationship is clear. Without the understanding and analysis of problem, creativity can't identify its target. What's more, without definite program, even the most creative solution can't be smoothly carried out/implemented.

Apart from its importance, the careful plan is far more economical than creative ones. It's not uncommon that the solution, which is both creative and useful, is hard to be attained/achieved. As a consequence, the countless time and efforts would be consumed. In the other hand, sometimes, analysis indicate that the problem can be prevailed over by mature solution. In these cases, finding creative solution is redundant. It declines efficiency and raises expenditures. In contrast, basing on careful planning and abundant data, people can find optimal solution eventually, paying no attention to its creativity or others.

Besides, practically, being creative is venturesome/unsafe. The creative way is a solution which has not been adopted before. No one can definitely predict whether the hazard exists and how dangerous the hazard is . The potential risk might contribute to the deterioration of the problem. But in a careful plan, every step is accurately calculated. The risk, if any, is slight /marginal /fractional.

We can't deny that being creative is useful when people are dealing with problems. Historically, It posed tremendous power time and time again. But being careful has irreplaceable and comprehensive advantages which we had discussed above. Thus, we should design a thorough/ thoughtful schema prior to being creative.
