I love it. Directions are so much easier and you get a much more comprehensive view of an area. The only misleading aspect comes in areas where sweeping landscaping changes have happened recently.
There were lots of gripes in the UK at first launch too, as people thought it was an invasion of privacy. Many views had to be removed because of complaints from the public that someone had appeared in shot without their consent, but this was an easy process which seems to have been handled quickly and efficiently. I know some people who found it amusing to follow the Google camera crew around while they were taking the shots, so that they (or their vehicles) appeared in a number of shots in an area. This meant that their car could appear at two ends of a street simultaneously when the photos were stitched together!
Initially only major routes in more populated areas were covered, but coverage increased swiftly. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

It's very useful.
I am not good at looking a traditional map, further, in my city, Hong Kong, roads are usually complicated. Therefore, I often get lost.
Google's streetview is an amazing gift that I wish to have. After google provided the streetview of my place, I sometimes look into it and jot down the special mark when I go somewhere I am not familiar with.
