The following is a letter to the editor of the Glenville Gazette, a local newspaper.
"Over the past few years, the number of people who have purchased advance tickets for the Glenville Summer Concert series has declined, indicating lack of community support. Although the weather has been unpredictable in the past few years, this cannot be the reason for the decline in advance ticket purchases, because many people attended the concerts even in bad weather. Clearly, then, the reason for the decline is the choice of music, so the organizers of the concert should feature more modern music in the future and should be sure to include music composed by Richerts, whose recordings Glenville residents purchase more often than any other contemporary recordings. This strategy will undoubtedly increase advance ticket purchases and will increase attendance at the concerts."
The author of this letter to the editor of Glenville Gazette recommends that in order to increase sales of advanced TICKET bookingS of Glenville's concert, the form of music should be changed to modern music(,) and THAT MUSIC composed BY Richerts should be included in the concert. He points out that THE decline in advanced ticket bookingS can't be due to bad weather(,) because many people had PREVIOUSLY attended concertS in bad weather. According to THE author(,) the choice of music by the organisErs is attributed to THE decrease in THE number of advanced ticket bookingS. However, close scrutiny of his claims reveals several flaws which renders it unconvincing.
THE author'S claims that bad weather is not attributABLE to THE decline in ticket bookingS is not well supported. Perhaps people had booked their ticket in times when THE weather was good(,) and NOT to WASTE the use the invested amount on ticketS, people STILL attended THE concert, but that doesn't indicate that people will invest again and again in the same way. It might be possible that listeners will not attend the next year fearing that weather might turn bad.
The assumption that choice of music is only attributed to THE decrease in numbers of saleable tickets is not well supported. The mode of music played in A concert might be one of the reasons for THE decrease in numbers(,) but there might be OTHER inevitable reasons for that decrease. Perhaps another concert BECAME establised in PREVIOUS years(,) or the numbers of counters for tickets decreased drastically. These and many others factors weaken THE author's claims.
Even if it is assumed that the choice of music is the only factor for THE decline in THE numbers of tickets sales in past years, the assumption that music composed by Richerds will drastically increase sales of advanced ticket booking is wrong. Author points out people of Glanville like music composed by Richerts MORE than ANY other contemporaRy musicians, but it is entirely possible that the people visiting THE concert are outsiders (not residentS of Glanville) and don't like Richerts's music. If that is the case, the change in choice of music will be futile for THE organisors of Glanville's concert.
In conclusion, THE author's recommendations are not well supported. To make it more convincing THE author should provide evidence that the choice of music played by the organisErs is the only /factor/EXPLANATION/ for THE decline in numbers of salEable tickets. THE author must also present some statistics showing that listeners will like to listen TO music composed by Richerts.
The number of words is 407. Is is sufficient for good score ?? Are we allowed to give suggestions to the author what to include (As I have done in conclusion part) ?? |
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Yes and No. Work with what you are provided with. Your work was acceptable. Your conclusion is good.
