I'd like to get a high toeic score Wed Jan 18, 2006 22:13 pm  I'd like to get a high toeic score

Hi there,

I have fallen in love for English. Two years ago your strange language was a mistery to me!! Since I have been learning very hard to improve it.

Now, since I have made little progress, ( I know, I know, much remain to be done ...) I'd like to take the TOEIC. Two month ago I bought a book "30 days to the TOEIC tests", I found the exercises quite easy.

So my question is: Are the tests included in this book really indicative of the TOEIC test difficulty?

Could you advise me as to which book I should buy? (with real difficult tests).

I'd like to assess my level so that I can adapt my work to the score I want to achieve. I am not lazy but I need some time for my family, I can't spend all my free time learning English.

Getting 865 would be a dream... With such a score I would get an equivalent diploma in my current job.

Thanks alot
Take care
Didier

How to prepare for the TOEIC Fri Jan 27, 2006 21:57 pm  How to prepare for the TOEIC

Hi Didier, so you have fallen with love with the English language - looks like the perfect match.
As for the questions in the book 30 Days to the TOEIC Test I think they resemble the level of the real TOEIC. However, you have to bear in mind that the TOEIC test consists of 200 questions and one of the main challenges is the time pressure. You have to concentrate hard for 2 hours if you want to score high marks. What you could do is purchase the TOEIC Official Test-Preparation Guide - in it you will find two authentic TOEIC tests. You can take both tests, time yourself and check your score. This will give you an idea as what your score will be in a real TOEIC test session.
Regards
Fabrice
