What's the place of grammar in language teaching?-- Ideally, it is learned indirectly, in the process of language acquisition. Sometimes, specific points can be presented directly.
How necessary is it for a me (a non native speaker myself) as an aspiring teacher of English as a Foreign Language to have knowledge of English Grammar?-- Very necessary, unless you just want to be an English mouth.
How necessary is it for a teacher to have knowledge of the grammar of the students’ language or languages?-- Not very necessary, but it is often helpful to know how the 2 languages vary. _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |
