I'm ill/I'm sick #1 (permalink) Wed Aug 18, 2010 12:46 pm   I'm ill/I'm sick

Dear teachers,

I cannot remember that when I was in primary school, a teacher told me, in British English, "I'm ill" didn't mean "I'm sick", instead it refered to "I am vomiting".
But a friend of mine said it was no longer the truth now, I would like to ask this phrase still holds or not?

Thanks in advance.
