Hello,
Following is my report #21 on the 21st consecutive day on August 21, 2010 after listening to a downloaded podcast from BBC radio on my computer:
BP accused of withholding information about the drilling rig explosion that caused the Gulf of Maxico oil spill.
An alleged arms traffics are arrested in Thailand is to be extradited to the United States. Is why? Says he is innocent. “I think it is clear that huge pressure has been exerted from the American side. This decision was clearly loaded.”
Also today a fresh protest a year after the release of the Libian convicted of the Lokerby bombing. It is never ends. It just keeps more and more and more to come and it keeps coming up!
And Australia prepares for the tightest general election in 50 years. A psychic crocodile calls the result!
But first, ever since the deep water horizon rig exploded and sank in the Gulf of Mexico back in April there has been furious debate who owe to blame for the massive oil spill and a promise of years litigations to come.
The disaster killed 11 workers.
Now the Trans Ocean Co. that owned the rig is accusing BP of withhelding the basic information. BP says the Trans Ocean accusations are misleading. Barak Mores reports:
The blame game over who is responsible for the biggest environmental disaster in US history is intensifying. On Wednesday Trans Ocean's lawyers sent a 7-page letter to BP. Trans Ocean which owns the rig, accuses the operators BP of obstructing its own internal investigation. The letter was copied to several White house aids and members of congress. Here is an excerpt from that correspondence.
"BP has continued to demonstrate it's unwillingness of not passing on the basic information, and the refusal to deliver even the most basic information to Trans Ocean. This is troubling both in light of public commitment occassinaly made by BP and it is not fair to openness and a fair investigation and because it appears that BP is withholding evidence in an attempt to prevent any other entity other than BP from investigating. Trans Ocean alleges that BP refuse to share crucial information including lab-test and operational data that could help why Mexico's oil well was blown out. BP has responded to the accusations. We are disappointed that Trans Ocean has opted to write a letter with so many misguided and misleading assertions. Including assertions that BP is withholding evidence concering the April 28 accident and the resulting oil spill. We have been at the forefront of cooperating with various investigations commissioned by the US Govt. and others. It is of course, the deep water horizon tragedy. Our commitment to cooperate with these investigations has been and remains unequivocal and steadfast.
Trans Oceans is unlikely to let the matter go. It faces around 250 law suits for damages from the disaster. On Wednesday the company's shares lost almost half their value of conscience that it couldn't meet it's liabilities. The credit ratings agency mode is down rated transactions. Credit rating on fears that it is facing amount in Legal bill.
Bye,
