English for production workers? Fri Jan 20, 2006 21:18 pm  English for production workers?

Hi, could anyone please make some suggestions? My line manager has asked me to desing a special English course for production workers. It's a group of qualified machine operators who didn't learn English at school. Now they should be prepared for jobs in production facilities. This means they also need basic training in reading and understanding messages and phrases in manuals, instructions and on displays. What I'm looking for right now is a keyword list I can use to retrieve more materials. Could you please help me out by suggesting any words that are related to a job done by a machine operator? Thanks so much.
Fabrice

Fabrice --

It's easy to find a list very quickly, but most people wouldn't think of it. Go to Amazon.com. Under "Books" search using the term "machine operation" or whatever subject you need to deal with. Find one of the book listings that lets you search inside the book. Then look at the index.

Here is an example:

I imagine you could download and print the indexes for your reference when you plan lessons.
