| Yes, that plural form exists, but we NEVER use it. It comes from the French word "mesdames" [medam], which is the plural of "madame". Almost no English speakers know about this plural form. |

Hello Abc,
I've changed your topic title to reflect the correct subject as your post has nothing to do with placement of commas in a list. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

Hi Jamie,
You mean the word is not used in any cases at all? Not even in business correspondence? Because I'm learning business correspondence, and my teacher taught me that...
Hi Beeesneees,
Thanks a lot, and sorry for my mistake :-) _________________ Please help correct my mistakes whenever you see them. Many thanks :) |

Hi Abc,
I've only ever seen the word used in historical novels, never in business and never in common usage.
I can't imagine you'd want to address a business letter to more than one married woman at a time anyway. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

Can I use a passive voice with the first person? I am discharged from the hospital (by the doctor-in-charge). We are explained the simple rules of the game (by the conductor). If yes, are there any strictures? If no, why? |
