'understood CIF' or 'understood as CIF'? #1 (permalink) Fri Aug 27, 2010 16:04 pm   'understood CIF' or 'understood as CIF'?

Hi,

Is 'as' necessary in this sentence?

'Prices should be understood as CIF, London port.'

(I saw the version without 'as' used.)

Thank you very much.
