Hi Kito,

Kindly rate the following issue essay and give your valuable comments.

==============================================================
The best ideas arise from a passionate interest in commonplace things.
==============================================================

Ideas that revolutionized the world originated from the passion of the individuals, but
not inevitably from the ordinary things. The best ideas are the inventions or creations that made the history of the mankind and the inspiration for such ideas are primarily primordial.

Firstly, the aboriginal inventions were original ideas driven by need and passion. What could be the source of inspiration for the invention of fire? Ancient man invented fire for his need. In the invention of fire, he might have burnt his hand, but his passion drove him to proceed and find it out. The invention of the wheel, which revolutionized the transportation of man in turn the evolution of mankind, had no predecessor. Hence, the earlier inventions, which were driven by the passion, were based on original ideas, and not on any commonplace things.

Secondly, somebody may argue that there are inventions, which are inspired by commonplace things such as the airplane inspired by flying bird, Theory of relativity inspired by falling apple and Monalisa inspired by smiling lady. Such arguments hold no water. Even if there had been no bird in this world, man would have invented the airplane, just like he invented the printing press. Falling apple is an example to explain theory of relativity, and it hardly plays any role in the discovery process. Monalisa painting is magnificent because of several reasons other than the mystic smiling lady, such as layering of the painting, background of the picture and posture of the human face. It is evident that the best ideas are not originated from the mundane things.

Finally, passion plays a major role in bringing the idea that transforms the world. Edison failed more than 1000 times on inventing the electric bulb. The only thing that motivated him against the failures is his passion. Curie couples experimented with atoms, and their interest took their lives in the experiment but marked their names in the nuclear history. Great edifices such as Pyramids of Egypt and Brahadeeswara temple of Thanjavur exemplifies the interest and excellence of the ancient architects. The root of all the ideas is the passion of the individual that assisted him to face the challenges daringly.

In sum, the ideas that evolved the mankind arose from the passionate interest but not from the commonplace things. The intellectual ability of the creators cannot be attributed to the ordinary things, as the absence of the things would not have hindered the creation process much.

=======================================================Nice work Amirdhagopal. A very interesting and valid opinion.

Hi Kitos,
Thanks for your kind comments.

I need a clarification on the beginning of the second paragraph. As I understand, in the parallel structures, the recurring patterns have to be similar. So, is it correct to restate it as follows:

such as the aeroplane WAS inspired by a flying bird, the Theory of relativity was inspired by a falling apple and THE Monalisa painting was inspired by a smiling lady.

Also, I prefer to avoid the passive voice. What would be the better alternative to the statement in active voice while preserving the parallel structure? Can this be written as the following:

such as a flying bird inspired the aeroplane, a falling apple inspired the Theory of relativity, and a smiling lady inspired the Monalisa painting.
