Holidays honor people or events. If you could create a new holiday, what person or event would it honor and how would you want people to celebrate it? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.
“Mom, when's the day for brothers and sisters?” That was what I questioned my mother time after time when I was a child. Because Her answer was “I don't know”, I kept wondering about it until severa FOR years afterwards. THEN CAME the time when I COULD surf the Internet or go to a local library to look for the answer. There is no such day! Or at least, there is no day to celebrate brotherhood in my country. Therefore, if I can create a holiday, I would dedicate it to those people who have sisters or brothers.
It is necessary to have a day like sister's day or brother's day because our siblings are the most closeST people to us IN ADDITION TO our parents. They share our lovely and memorable childhood. They also grow up beside us and help us in many ways. With their existence, we can learn a number of precious lessons about family valueS and sharing. For example, AFTER my younger brother was born, I have THOUGHT how great it would be if I gAve him the bigger proportion of any food; we smile and eat together. Life becomes more meaningful when we have our siblings.
ON such a day, people who have brothers or/and sisters should gather at one's house and spend the whole day with each other to celebrate it. Family's memories are so worthy that they should be honored by retelling among all family's members. Every person will express their love and their appreciation towards others. That people now travel to different places during their lives makes this day a reunion every year. As a consequence, the traditional value of THE family will always be reserved.
In conclusion, I think I would make a day the brother's or sister's day if it is possible. Our siblings need to be honored for their contributions and influence (throughout) our lives, from the day we are juveniles to the day we are Elders. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: This was a very nice essay Hoale. I wish I were a member of your family. :-)
