Why not went out?
How went out is right for follwing sentence?

Although they had high hopes that they would be successful, they went out of business within six months

HI Stevan,

There are two different expressions: go into business means start a business go out of business means stop trading.

In the sentence Question 3 you have to supply the missing preposition and here it must be into.

They went INTO business shortly after their children had left home and got married.

(a) out
(b) in
(c) into
(d) on

As you will see out of is not one of the choices.
